Battle for the White House – “Exhausted”: Harris doubts Trump’s suitability

Date:

During the American election campaign, Vice President Kamala Harris questioned her rival Donald Trump’s suitability for the presidency. After reports that the Republican was suffering from fatigue, the Democratic candidate said on Friday: “If you are exhausted on the campaign trail, it raises the question of whether you are fit for the toughest job in the world.” Trump responded angrily to these comments, calling Harris a “loser.”

Both presidential rivals appeared on Friday in Michigan, one of the states that will be decisive in the November 5 elections.

“Exhausted”
On the same day, the news portal Politico reported that an adviser to Trump told producers on a website in exchange for a possible interview that the ex-president was “exhausted” and turned down some appearances.

Trump rejected the second TV debate
Trump has appeared on television channels favorable to him. However, the 78-year-old canceled interviews with media such as NBC, CNBC and CBS. He also declined a second televised debate against Harris. According to many experts, he clearly lost the TV match with the Democrat in September. As for Harris’ comments about his physical condition, Trump told reporters he had not canceled anything. He described his opponent as a “loser” who “doesn’t have the energy of a rabbit.”

Of ‘love’ and ‘habits’
In Auburn Hills, a suburb of the car city of Detroit, Trump again announced that if he won the election, he would significantly increase tariffs on foreign goods. There are many beautiful words, such as the word ‘love’, said the right-wing populist. But according to him there is an even better word: ‘habits’.

However, Harris warned during an appearance in Oakland County: “Donald Trump is making the same empty promises to the people of Michigan as before – and hoping you forget how he left you hanging last time.”

Opinion polls predict a close race
The polls predict an extremely close race between the vice president and the ex-president. The president is elected indirectly by a college of electors sent by the individual states. Because of this peculiarity of the American electoral system, the decision will likely be made only in a few states, the so-called swing states, where the election outcome is particularly close.

Harris and Trump wanted to continue their campaign tours through swing states this weekend. The vice president also relied on the glamor of pop stars. At a performance scheduled for Saturday in Detroit, she would receive support from singer Lizzo. Later on Saturday, the Democrat planned a meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, which singer Usher would also attend.

Trump, for his part, wanted to hold rallies again this weekend in Michigan and then in Pennsylvania.
