This customer loyalty is heart-warming: the Moser couple from Pregarten (Upper Austria) have subscribed to the “Krone” for 55 years – and will continue to do so.
Rosemarie (78) and Franz Moser (85) from Pregarten have been married for 59 years. The two have maintained a close relationship with the Kronen Zeitung for almost as long. “We have been subscribing to it continuously for 55 years,” says Rosemarie Moser proudly. Reading your favorite newspaper is part of the couple’s daily routine, just like having breakfast, showering or brushing your teeth.
The home delivery person will deliver the freshly printed copy to your front door at 5 a.m. “Then they argue about who can read the ‘crown’ first,” says son Franz (58) with a smile. The mother disagrees: “It is usually my husband who holds them in his hands first.”
When asked which pages the couple prefers to read, they answer: “Actually the entire newspaper, we only browse through the sports section every now and then.” The mother of three children – daughter Anita is 54, daughter Renate is 52 – is particularly interested in Format inspires: “It’s perfect, it doesn’t take up much space.”
To Paris together
The couple will also forever remember a trip to Paris, to which the ‘Krone’ invited loyal subscribers about 30 years ago. “The whole plane was full of Krone readers. We looked at the city and visited the Eiffel Tower.” Canceling the subscription was never an option: “We would miss something!”
