Huge snowfall is currently keeping South Korea in suspense: at least three people have already died. Air and ferry traffic is seriously hampered.
The Asian country is currently experiencing the heaviest November snowfall since records began more than a century ago. 11,000 city government employees are fighting the crowds during the evacuation and there are numerous power outages.
On Thursday, the Interior Ministry said 156 flights had been canceled and 104 ferry services disrupted. According to official information, three people have died in Gyeonggi province, near the capital Seoul, due to the outbreak of winter. Particularly tragic: one person died when a tent structure collapsed.
In the capital Seoul, the snow cover grew to 40 centimeters on the second day, according to the Ministry of the Interior. In areas outside the capital, up to 45 centimeters were measured.
