A Krampus run took place in Grünau im Almtal on Thursday. To avoid blending in with the crowd, two girls aged 16 and 17 stayed in the background. According to her, around 7:40 p.m., Krampus ran to the two girls who had retreated to a corner of the community building. The Krampus hit the 16-year-old girl, causing her an injury.
Teen was arrested
Shortly afterwards, other Krampus Run participants arrived and two or three people held the 17-year-old victim. The girl was beaten and according to her statements she tried to protect herself with an umbrella. However, the suspect did not let go of the victim and broke the umbrella with the blows. Both victims received first aid from rescuers on the spot. More studies will follow.
