Large-scale operation in Seewalchen am Attersee: On Thursday evening, 13 fire brigades responded after a fire broke out on the roof of an apartment building. About a dozen residents fled the building and the operation was very complex.
Apparently, during the scarification of the roof, which according to witnesses was being repaired, a smoldering fire started in the structure and spread quickly. The alarm went off around 2.15 pm and the weirs were gradually warned.
More and more emergency services
Meanwhile, a dozen residents fled outside and watched as more and more fire brigades – wearing breathing apparatus, emergency vehicles with lifting platforms – arrived. Ultimately there were 13 weirs. The operation is currently underway.
Fire extinguisher from Upper Austria in use
To extinguish the flames that spread under the roof, the roof membrane also had to be broken open. The Drill-X fire extinguisher invented in Upper Austria for such operations is also used.
Endure in the cold
According to initial reports, no one was injured. Because of the cold, the residents who fled sought a warm shelter after a while; according to the Red Cross, no emergency shelters needed to be opened.
