Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has been released from hospital after emergency head surgery. His doctors announced this on Sunday. Lula had surgery on Tuesday.

The bleeding in his head had to be stopped. A drain was removed from the politician’s skull. Lula has now recovered well and can return to work, the doctors announced on Sunday.

The operations are linked to the 79-year-old’s fall in his bathroom, which occurred in October. “I want to thank God, who has taken care of me in a very generous way,” Lula wrote on the platform on which I flew for hours over Mexico.
