A post with the city police of Salzburg now has an aftermath: A job applicant who was not given a chance felt discriminated against because of his worldview. And was right.
The Salzburg State Police Directorate (LPD) has come back into the picture: the Federal Equal Treatment Commission is filling a post within the Police Command of the City of Salzburg.
The background? An application was received from a rejected applicant in May 2021. The official had applied for the deputy head of a department and was not selected for the position.
“The left-left revolutionaries will be nothing anyway”
He suspected that he had been discriminated against because of his worldview: despite being better qualified, he was not selected because his attitude was perceived as “left-left”. His career opportunities have been hindered him since 2013 because of his political views. And that despite the fact that he is not politically active. A superior said: “The left-left revolutionaries are nothing anyway.” Plus: the chosen one is no better or equally qualified, he thinks – he has more service experience.
State Police Headquarters Needs Senate Clarification
The Equal Treatment Commission agreed with the man. The LPD could not demonstrate that its world view was not decisive for the decision. Nor why the applicant should be better suited. The victim is now entitled to compensation.
