Swiss arrested – woman beaten and injured with knife

Date:

After the crime in Wittenbach (canton of St. Gallen), about 30 kilometers from Bregenz, the 58-year-old fled. He caused several accidents and hit a neighbor.

In neighboring Switzerland, a 58-year-old apparently had his fuse completely blown. In his hometown of Wittenbach he first attacked his wife, hitting her and wounding her with a knife. The 52-year-old woman was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Also got a beating
After the crime, the husband fled and drove his car towards Bernhardzell. As he entered town, he left the road, slid across a pasture and eventually crashed into a property fence. When the violent perpetrator tried to flee the scene of the accident, a neighbor tried to stop him. He was not particularly successful and also took blows from the 58-year-old.

The man eventually drove away with the damaged vehicle – and it wasn’t long before he caused the next accident. He crashed into a parked vehicle in the village center of Bernhardzell. Once again, he didn’t really care that any damage had been done. He left the scene of the accident.

Blood and urine samples ordered
However, he did not make the calculation with the St.Gallen cantonal police. Police arrested the 58-year-old a short time later. Since the man was unable to drive, a blood and urine sample was ordered. In addition, the driver’s license was confiscated.

The cantonal police of St. Gallen, under the direction of the cantonal public prosecutor’s office, have now started investigations to clarify the exact course of the crime.
