Unknown people blew up several mailboxes with fireworks in southwestern Styria. The police are investigating the material damage.
Unknown perpetrators have been causing mischief in Deutschlandsberg and Leibnitz since December 20. They mainly focus on the yellow collection and return letterboxes of the post office. A total of ten of them were blown up with fireworks on December 30. It hit yellow mailboxes in Lebring, Leutschach, Oberhaag, Wies, Eibiswald and Bad Gams.
The police are informed and conduct an intensive investigation: “It cannot be ruled out that there is a connection between the crimes. “We are investigating material damage or, depending on the extent of the damage, even serious material damage,” said Markus Lamb, press spokesman for the Styrian State Police Directorate, in an interview with the “Krone”. There are no known eyewitnesses yet. Which in no way means that the perpetrators can feel safe. Because: “The mailboxes are of course examined for pyrotechnic residues, which can provide useful information.”
