“KTM, we had a dream, but the boss makes us poor. How can you believe that? Stefan Pierer, your name causes anger. You took our blood, but you are no good for us!” A song about KTM boss Stefan Pierer is currently circulating on the messaging service WhatsApp.
It is unclear whether an affected employee is behind it or “just” someone who knows someone affected by the bankruptcy. What is certain is that the diss rap takes the manager seriously and sometimes makes malicious accusations.
“Lived for luxury, left us behind”
“Every morning we worked on an assembly line. Dirty hands, rattling engines. Bikes built that no one buys. Pierer had known this for a long time, but didn’t care. Collected bonuses, promised us all kinds of things, but now the company is completely broken,” it says at the beginning of the song. The author also feels “betrayed” by Pierer: “Stefan, you betrayed us. Your pockets are full, but to you we are just rats. Lived for luxury and left us behind.”
At the end of the 3:22-minute song, the artists appear combative: “Now we stand there, without hope, without money. But no one can catch us, we have the world in our hands. Pierer, your name is smoke and mirrors, KTM lives in us even without our stomach.
Transparent caused a stir
At Christmas, a banner hanging in front of the KTM Motohall caused a stir: “Merry Christmas, Stefan. Wish you employees who made you billionaires and to whom you no longer even pay their wages and Christmas bonuses.”
