Venezuela’s President Nicolás Maduro assured this Saturday that the country, together with Cuba, Nicaragua and other international allies, is preparing “if one day it is necessary” to take up arms to defend the right to peace and sovereignty.
“Venezuela, together with Cuba, together with Nicaragua, together with our elder brothers in the world, is preparing for the possibility that one day we will have to take up arms to defend the right to peace, the right to sovereignty and the historic rights of our homeland to defend,” he said. the president said at the conclusion of the International Anti-Fascist World Festival, convened by Chavismo.
In this sense, the president, who came to power on Friday, said that “if it is the good way, we will make progress, and if it is the bad way, we will also defeat them so that they get respect.”
“We are not lukewarm leaders, we are the Bolivarian revolution of the 21st century, let no one make a mistake with Venezuela, let no one make a mistake with us,” he declared. He also urged that “if that were the case” they would “confront fascism with weapons in hand and with armed struggle.”
