Large parts of Mount Vesuvius were covered in snow after a cold front passed. Not only the top of the 1280 meter high volcano, but also the slopes were covered with snow. It rained heavily in Naples and the city was also hit by gusty winds, media reported.
As the skies cleared over Naples on Sunday morning, a thick layer of snow appeared, visible not only at the top of Mount Vesuvius, but also along much of the ridge.
