Again and again, large quantities of waste bags end up on the waste island in the adjacent community building. Tenants fear additional costs as a result of increased waste processing. What Vienna Living says about it.
110 brand new air-conditioned apartments with balconies purely for migrants at Favoritenstrasse 185 – the project, as reported, is extremely exciting. Because many Viennese have to live in less comfortable housing. And they do not always receive rental subsidies.
Tenants of the adjacent community building talk about a problem that affects them directly: since the refugees moved into the apartments, the garbage islands on “their” complex have been drowning in bags of waste.
They recorded this photographically for weeks. The photos show many things, from food scraps to bulky waste, that should not simply be thrown away in the open, but rather separately, in separate bins and containers.
The residents of the community building now fear additional costs as a result of more frequent waste processing. But that is unfounded, Wiener Wohnen told the “Krone”.
“The container island on MA 48 is located on public land. “The concern that emptying the containers or disposing of bulky waste could burden the operating costs of our tenants is therefore completely unfounded,” a company spokeswoman explains. The municipal department was asked to investigate whether relocation of the container island would be possible.
