A 24-year-old driver and his passenger had a lot of luck on the Rhine Valley Motorway on Friday evening. The two crashed their car at full force into the center guardrail, but survived the crash unscathed.
The 24-year-old was driving his car towards Germany when he had to brake abruptly near Koblach around 8:35 p.m. According to his statement, a car in front of him had lost a lot of speed, which was inexplicable to him. During the emergency stop, the man lost control of his car: it swerved, slid into the left center guardrail and was then thrown back into the fast lane.
The driver and front passenger were unharmed in the wild slide, but the car was significantly damaged. The Rhine Valley highway was closed to all traffic from 8:40 PM to 9:18 PM during the recovery of the vehicle.
