After the sudden loss of height, the plane turned around and again landed in Lagos, where the six injuries, including two flight attendants, were taken to a nearby hospital, United Airlines said. They have now been released from the hospital.
It is unclear what the breakdown had caused. The airline announced that it was not a serious turbulence and that “working together with the aircraft authorities in the US and Nigeria to determine the cause”.
According to United, 245 passengers, eight stewardesses and three pilots were on board the flight. The passengers finally had to be housed in hotels.
