Russian troops fired rockets at the Odessa factory
Colonel Vladislav Nazarov of the Southern Operations Command of the Ukrainian Army said that a rocket attack on a factory in the Ukrainian city of Odessa, in the south of the country, this morning did not cause any casualties.
In a video broadcast by the official Telegram channel of the Odessa City Council, Nazarov points out that the attack took place on the “critical infrastructure” of the city.
Several rockets hit a factory in the Ukrainian city of Odessa at 6 am local time (04:00 GMT) with fuel tanks burning.
As EFE was able to verify, the missiles struck the infrastructure, located north of this strategic city, on the Black Sea coast and near its port, where an oil pipeline enters from Russia.
Explosions (of at least six different intensities) were felt miles from the site and three columns of black smoke came out of the factory complex, visible from all over the city.
According to the colonel, firefighters are on the scene trying to control the fire caused by the rockets, which starts from several tanks of fuel, where from time to time explosions occur when their contents are on fire.
Tatiana, who lives in an apartment in a two-story building, fifty meters from the entrance to the facility, told EFE that she heard six explosions, four of them on the factory grounds and two slightly away.
This neighbor said his brother worked at the facility until he stopped working until 2014, but there are always security guards there day and night. “We heard a noise and got out of bed,” he said, shocked.
Another neighbor, Sergei, felt the attacks as an “earthquake” from his house, located on a hill a few hundred meters from the infrastructure.
The anti-aircraft gunship sounded three times in Odessa this morning, one of them coinciding with an attack.
