Date:

A test of the magazine “Consumers” has shown that dog snacks have too many calories and hardly any nutrients. Some brands also contain too much sugar. All twelve delicacies tested from common brands such as pedigree and frolics have failed.

Dog biscuits and co have an integral part of dog owners in daily life, but they can also make you fat. If you want to eat your four -legs -friend healthy, you have to pay attention to the quality of the treats and their nutrients. However, this is not that simple: there is no information about the optimum nutritional amount for dogs of different weight classes on the packages.

Without this information it is difficult for mistresses and owners to estimate the right quantities. If the main lining is reduced too much – to compensate for the calories of the snacks – there is a risk of a lack of nutrients for the four -pussy friend. Because there are hardly any nutrients in the treats.

Snacks must cover a maximum of ten percent of the daily energy requirement of a dog, advise consumer protectors. With a ten -Kilogram Beagle, that would be a maximum of eight snacks per day.
