The beach and party area “Ballermann” on the Spanish island of Mallorca must be renamed. The Promenade previously called Carretera de l’Arsal officially. “Carretera” means street, no promenade.
In the past, the road had two lanes, initiator Juan Ferrer said about the “Bild”. Nowadays, however, the part of the beach is a promenade on which people would walk and cycle. That is why she can now get the name “Paseo” or “Passig” in Mallorcan. The official languages on the island are Spanish and Catalan. The coastal path should be called “Arenal”.
The Hotel and Restaurant Association Palma Beach has now presented this change to the mayor of Palma, Jaime Martinez Llabrés. According to Ferrer, there are 42,000 hotel beds in the Playa de Palma. The guests are diverse, Mallorca must “remain affordable for all income groups”.
In the future, the district of Palma’s district will receive new recreational zones and more nature to make Mallorca a year -round holiday destination. More than 400,000 people live in Palma. More than a third of the tourists are from Germany.
