Every help too late for a 68-year-old farmer at Mardi Gras in Thaya in the Waldviertel: the man was overwhelmed and trapped by his own tractor. He could only be found dead.
A resident had made the terrible find in the evening. He had heard tractor noise in the forest and had followed it. The fire brigade was warned around 8.45 pm. A few minutes later the first emergency services were on the spot, but the scene of the accident itself was only accessible on foot.
Won under the rear wheel
On the arrival, however, the emergency doctor could only find the death of the 68-year-old. This was caught under the left -hand rear wheel of the tractor. According to the first knowledge, the accident may have happened a few hours earlier. The police are investigating the exact circumstances.
