In the case of the victims of the accident, the difference between the sexes for 15 to 24-year-olds, the VCö reported on the basis of data from Statistics Austria: in the last four years, four and a half times as many young men and young women have been killed in traffic.
“If men were as safe as women as women, Austria would have achieved all its goal of road safety,” said VCA expert Katharina Jaschinsky: By 2030 the number of road fat would decrease to less than 207. In the previous year, 349 fatalities were registered on the street in Austria.
From 2021 to 2023, men also caused almost 67,800 traffic accidents with personal injury, for women there were 31,750.
Alcohol travel and lawn more often “male” offenses
About 85 percent of the Alko drivers involved in accidents were men. “Both alcohol and fast driving are violations that are dedicated more often by men than women,” Jaschinsky explained.
However, there are also differences in mobility behavior: according to VCö, women and men cover about the same number of paths, but women are more often in a total of walking, send a car less often and drives much less often per motorcycle. Women and men use roughly the same public transport.
