A winter athlete had a guardian angel in the Villgratner Bergen on Saturday morning in the Marchdinggeele in East -Tirol. He was hit by an avalanche, but could be dug up by comrades on time.
The accident took place around 11.30 am in the border area between East and South Tyrol. According to the Tyrol Control Center, a winter athlete on the East -Tirol side of the Marchming yellow (2545 m) was registered and torn by an avalanche.
Airbag protected against avalanche
Comrades immediately started looking for the spilled. Because according to the control center the Open Airbag was apparently visible on the surface, the person was quickly established and excavated.
According to the control center, the athlete is unharmed, but there was an emergency helicopter on site to investigate the athlete. The use of the Sillian Mountain Rescue can be canceled.
