After heavy criticism – supplies in Tyrol “secured” by the Red Cross

Date:

Contrary to the fears and criticisms of the works council of the Tyrolean Red Cross, security of supply is assured throughout Tyrol. Director Andreas Karl announced this in a broadcast. We understand the works council.

“The safety of our customers and the care for acutely injured or sick people were and are 100 percent guaranteed throughout the country,” says Andreas Karl, the director of the rescue service GmbH responsible for the Tyrolean rescue service. Anyone who needs help gets it quickly, efficiently and reliably.

Understanding the works council
The burden on paramedics has increased significantly in recent years. “We understand the works council and welcome the dialogue, but at the same time ask that the problem be addressed constructively,” says Karl. In coordination with the federal state of Tyrol, work has been done in recent months on various improvements that should provide noticeable relief. In particular, a night ambulance was recently commissioned by the Red Cross district office in Innsbruck. In addition, an additional ambulance will be active in the Innsbruck region from August.

Karl is also in constant contact with the federal state of Tyrol and is aware of his responsibility. We want and will do our very best to tackle this together – for the benefit of our patients.”

The works council sounded the alarm in a broadcast on Monday and warned of a “dangerous situation for the emergency services in the vicinity of Innsbruck”. The collapse of the system cannot be ruled out either and the “security of supply is in acute danger”.
