A tourist submarine fell off the coast of Hurghada in Egypt on Thursday. Six people died. Nine others were injured, four of them seriously, as local media reported.
The tourist submarine “Sinbad” had 44 passengers on board at the time of the loss. According to the Egyptian newspaper “Al Masry Al Youum”, 29 of them have been saved so far. Six people died, so 15 are still missing when Thursday morning.
Nine people were injured in the accident, four of them seriously. The directorate for security on the Red Sea announced that the accident had taken place for the marina of a “famous hotel”. The wounded were taken to local hospitals.

The sunken submarine has been used for years for tourist journeys in Hurghada. On Thursday the tourists went on an excursion to see coral reefs and tropical fish. The submarine can dive up to 20, 25 meters deep. It was initially unclear why the accident took place.
