In June 2020, the “You will like it Group” led by Rainer Schönfelder sent the hotel in Zederhaus in Salzburg’s Lungau bankruptcy.
In Zederhaus it should be just as quiet this summer as last year. Even two years after the Cooee-alpin-Hotel went bankrupt, the 120-bed hotel is still available for 2.3 million euros.
That could now change, reports mayor Thomas Kößler of the “Krone”: “We have another interested person on the line,” said the local manager. We are already further along than in discussions with previous stakeholders. However, it is currently not possible to estimate when a conclusion might be reached.
Since the bankruptcy, “five to ten” interested parties have been counted. So far, the ownership situation may have been a deterrent: the hotel is built on municipal land with building rights.
“In short, we don’t want to change that either,” says Kößler. In 2019, the hotel accounted for approximately 28,000 of the 40,000 overnight stays in the city.
