Hunting for protected beavers clearly makes a torture of animals in the Lilienfeld district. In the past few weeks, two dead have been killed, who were beheaded by an unknown perpetrator.
The first case happened in February. Employees of the composting factory in St. Veit an der Gölsen found the carcass of a beaver in organic waste. They reported the find, experts from the Research Institute for Wildlife Science and Ecology (FIWI), closely the overestimation of the animal. The result: the beaver was clearly shot or shot and beheaded.
Second case a month later
A month later, on March 17, employees raised the alarm again in the composting factory in St. Veit an der Gösen. Again, there was a beheaded beaver in organic waste. After investigating the carcass, the State Criminal Police Office of Lower Austria took over further research.
