With the Magic 7 Pro, the newest smartphone flagship from the Chinese manufacturer is recently available in Austria. However, little has changed compared to the previous model. In the test we reveal in the test on which places were improved and whether this justifies the purchase.
It was a little more than four years ago that the honor had to do the shadow of the former parent company Huawei and became a serious challenger of the former “cheap brand”-Endhans on the home team of China.
There the company was able to sell 42.2 million smartphones there last year and thus secure a market share of 15 percent – ex aequo with the also Chinese manufacturer Oppo and Apple, which with 42.7 and 42.9 million only slightly more smartphones. Only Huawei and Vivo were more successful, who were able to guarantee a market share of 16 and 17 percent.
Come in
The situation is still different in Europe, which according to counterpunt research is clearly dominated by Apple (31 percent), Samsung (28 percent) and – at a greater distance – Xiaomi (18 percent). With a smartphone heel rose by 77 percent compared to the same period in the previous year, but Honor was able to come up with the land and to guarantee a market share of at least four percent.
The exciting question remains whether Honor can continue the success story with its Magic 7 Pro? Given the relatively manageable number of innovations, doubts about this are justified.
