Dieter Hallervorden is considered a celebrated old master of the German comic subject. But now the 89-year-old did not make it laugh with his cultural saying “Palim, Palim”, but for indignation.
In the Ard -jubilee show “75 years of ARD” he presented a new edition of his legendary sketch: on the stage of a prison chat, Hallervorden explains that he was in custody because he used racist words such as “Negrouss” and “Gypsy Schnitzel”. “If I had known that you no longer say that,” the prisoner explains, both words will say.
The outrage was not coming long. There was criticism of social networks, and the Central Council of German Sinti and Roma spoke too. But from some parties, Hallerviden even praises his supposedly “brave” appearance.
“People no longer recognize satire today!”
The 89-year-old television star defends his appearance as satire. “People wake up nowadays, not to dance out of the line, carefully follows all bids on social media not to risk, and satire no longer understands because satire no longer occurs for fear of misunderstandings,” said Hallervorden.
