On Thursday, the Minoritsplatz in Vienna was the scene of a powerful protest: parents, children, grandparents and dedicated pedagogue: in – loudly demanded an inclusive education policy. The reason for the rebellion? The closure of the unique primary school Lernwerkstatt Vienna West.
The school is considered a model project with a language healing of educational focus and multi -level classes. It is criticized that in the course of the relocation no equivalent replacement in the area will be offered in the next four years. The mood at the rally was peaceful, creative and determined. With music, actions of children and personal speeches, the participants wanted to draw attention to the importance of inclusive education and the effects of the planned measure.
