Disinfection measures – Animal disease: 28 soldiers in border use in Lower Austria

From Monday the use of the border of the federal army in LoWower Austria starts because of the outbreak of the mouth and mouth disease (MKS) in Slovakia and in Hungary. 28 Soldiers will provide disinfection measures at two border crossings.

In particular, the emergency services will provide disease carpets during the transitions in Hohenau (Gänserndorf District) and Berg (Bruck District on the Leitha) was informed. First exploration teams left on Friday.

“The protection of our population and animals is now a top priority. Our soldiers make an indispensable contribution to prevent the spread of mouth and claw disease in Austria and to protect our agriculture,” emphasized Defense Klaudia Tanner (ÖVP).

The application for help by the armed forces was applied to the military order by the state of LoWower Austria. The activity is now being carried out to support the health authorities in the Bruck districts on the Leitha and Gänserndorf, was emphasized by the army.

Quiet location on the border
So far, all test results were negative in lower Austria, said it on Friday of the FPö State Councilor Susanne Rosenkranz.
