The commercial war and the rates announced by the president of the United States have spread the uncertainty in the markets all over the world. The companies in the video game sector have been some of the most affected in recent weeks.
The Sony Technology Company has announced that the digital edition of the video of Play Station 5 (PS5) will consist of 10 %, in Europe because of the ‘challenging economic context’. The digital edition of this console will therefore increase 50 euros and goes from € 449.99 to € 499.99.
Uncertainty has been installed in markets around the world, after the Commercial War initiated by the rates announced by the President of the United States, Donald Trump. The situation has led to important losses in bags for many companies, including technological such as Nintendo and Sony that have lost 9.3 % and 6 % respectively in the past week.
The Japanese technology Sony has explained that the price increase of PS5 responds to a “challenging” context characterized by high inflation and “types of fluctuating changes”. The company has decided to carry out this increase in four selected markets: Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia and Nueva Celanda. The standard version of the PS5 will also increase the last three.
These increases currently have no influence on the United States.
It is not the first time that the technological increase has announced a price increase for its playing station 5. In 2022 it also increased its prize for comparable causes, at that time it stated that it was due to the “high global inflation.”
