Tested smuggling the police freedom in Bangkok Orang-Utan-Babys

Date:

In the Thai capital Bangkok, the police freed two orang -utan brothers and sisters from the hands of a smuggler. The two animals were intended for illegal sale. The price per animal: around 8000 euros.

After a reference to illegal animal trade, the officials hit a gas station. The only month old brothers and sisters of a month were found in plastic boxes (see video above).

The perpetrator wanted to sell the animals on the black market for 8,000 euros each. Now the two monkeys are safe and they are switched on – later they are released again.

The Orangoutans are threatened by the destruction of their habitat. The animals also run the risk of the transfer of diseases. Because of their close relationship with people, for example, they can develop hepatitis, cholera, malaria and tuberculosis

Wildlife Trade is a profitable issue
The illegal trade in wild animals is a company for billion dollars, according to estimates, global annual turnover is up to $ 20 billion (equal to slightly less than $ 18 billion). It is one of the most profitable forms of organized crime.

Every year millions of animals and plants are imprisoned, traded or killed illegally. Trade not only threatens biodiversity, but also promotes the spread of diseases.
