The investment is 70 million euros and will generate 300 jobs and will have projects to promote coexistence with biodiversity.
The largest solar park that is projected for Euskadi, Ekienea, has obtained the favorable explanation of the environmental impact to install 231,000 photolthal modules in the municipality of Alavés Armiñón.
The installation is powered by the Ekienea Society, formed by Iberdrola in 75%together with the Basque Energy entity (18%), the Diputación de Álava (2Z%) and Kran (Mondragón Group, 5%).
After achieving urban permission and as soon as you have the rest of the necessary permits, it will be in the municipality of Alavés de Armiñón and add a force of 125.89 megawatts (MW), which will be the current solar capacity of the solar teneration of Euskadi, almost 50 Mw.
According to its promoters, it will generate energy to deliver around 47,500 houses and to prevent the issue of the atmosphere of 12,400 tonnes of CO2 per year.
The investment planned for this photovoltaic project, provided that it obtains a long -term sales contract, will be 70 million euros. It is estimated that up to 300 jobs will create in periods.
Ekienea will extend for 200 hectares, of which 100 will be occupied by the photovoltaic plant and the other 100 per field for environmental compensation and preservation of forest areas.
Mikel Jauregi, Minister of Industry, Energy Transition and Sustainability of the Basque Government has assured that “from the Basque government we promote the balanced development of photovoltaic parks”, and added that they “are projects that meet our obligations of environmental sensitivity, to the current electrical infrastructure and public-privé-examination.”
