A terrible accident occurred on an Adriatic beach. In the popular holiday destination Cervia north of Rimini, a woman was run over on Saturday morning by a Plantier caterpillar. All help came too late for them.
As the Italian media reported, the woman remained at the sea when the bulldozer hung her back and eventually rolled. It is still unclear whether the woman was on a beach towel or overlooking the sea.
Holidaymakers died on the beach
The alarmed salvation could only find the death of the woman, a 66-year-old teacher from Vicenza, who went on holiday with her husband in Cervia.
As mentioned, there were already several swimmers on the beach at the time of the fatal accident that witnessed the terrible accident. When the driver noticed the accident, according to the media reports, he would have to run away in the first shock, but then returned to the scene of the accident.
“These were illegal work”
The man was probably planning to make the beach smooth out of the great haste, but would not have had permission. This was also confirmed by the mayor of Cervia of the Italian news agency Ansa: “These were illegal work that were in no way authorized.”
The tourist association of the region also stated that the “presence of an unauthorized vehicle on the beach” was a case of “unprecedented seriousness” during this time of the year. The usual work for the bathing season ended about two weeks ago.
Investigate
The local police and the port authority started the exams for the course of the accident. Against the director of the planier caterpillar, it is determined for negligent killing. In another case, against him, there should already be a procedure for negligent murder in road traffic from 2022.
