The alleged puppy dealer Brigitta M. has been in Hungarian detention for months. It is said that it has held hundreds of animals under horrible circumstances and has already received an administrative fine of 70,000 euros. The appointment of the court for the supplementary criminal proceedings will probably take place soon.
It is a case that last year experienced experienced animal rights activists: just 50 kilometers from the Austrian border, an unimaginable animal drama took place in Hungary on the farm of an Austrian.
Incredible animal drama
According to information from the “Krone”, Mrs. M. already had a number of advertisements for cruelty for animals and illegal trade, as well as an existing ban on dogs. It withdrew from the Austrian authorities and continued – for the time being undisturbed – in Hungary.
When in November the bang in the Hungarian CSönge: a large quota from the police, Hungarian media representatives and rescuers of animals were unannounced for the Austrian Mession Hof, which ran a “dog consumption station” on a large scale there. According to the Hungarian media reports, the public prosecutor is now calling for a longer prison for Brigitta M. and a permanent ban on the preservation of animals in the neighboring country.
Even before the process begins, one speaks of an important signal in the fight against illegal animal trade and such as “multiplication jobs” in Hungary. It is still unclear whether Brigitta M. will be delivered to Austria after having her punishment in Hungary – procedures are also open.
