The Nepalese mountain guide Kami Rita Sherpa was at the top of Mount Everest for the 31st time and thus broke its own world record. No one has ever climbed the highest mountain on earth.
The 55 -year -old Sherpa reached the top at 4 o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, while liding a group of Indian cliffs, said the head of the Expeditie organizer Seven Summit Treks, Mingma Sherpa.
They were on the descent of the 8849 meter high mountain in the Himalayas. Kami Rita belongs to the ethnic group of the Sherpa, which lives in the Himalayas. Like many of them, he comes from a Mountain Guide family. In 1994 he was at Everest for the first time at the age of 24. Since then he has been to the top almost every year, making him famous on the border of Nepal. He also mastered other eight thousands in the Himalayas.
Landsmann was on the Everest -Top 29 times
His countryman Pasang Dawa Sherpa is hard on his heels – he climbed the Everest for the 29th time. According to the organizer Seven Summit, he was already the second time in the current spring of climbing season. The British mountaineer Kenton Cool had recently reached the Everest -Top for the 19th time. He is therefore considered a person with the most Everest stimuli who does not come from the Sherpas group from the region. Sherpas often works as a guide and carrier for mountaineers from abroad.
Hundreds of Everest -Climers
Mount Everest is located on the border of Nepal and China. It can be climbed from both countries. With the support of the Sherpa and the latest equipment, hundreds of foreigners reach the top every year. The costs and other expenses of the climbers are important sources of income for Nepal. In the country, including Mount Everest, there are eight of the 14 mountains that are more than 8000 meters high.
