An alligator was searched for days in the lower Saxony city of Vechta. Now, after a new test of the video material, it has been found that the recordings were impossible for the Rainwater Retention Basin …
The young man who handed over the material had admitted that he did not make the video himself, the city council said. As reported, he had stated at the end of last week that he had seen the reptile and filmed in a rainwater retention books. The affected area was then closed and searched for an alligator with drones and a live trap.
Mayor Kristian Kater thanked the emergency services for their work. “Safety and animal welfare continue, so it was necessary to block the site,” said the SPD politician. The city council of Vechta said that the approximately 2.5 hectare was not closed due to a danger to the population, but to protect the possibly observed reptile. What legal consequences could have the behavior of the young man is currently being investigated.
