Wall of the alarm on the popular Spanish holiday island of Mallorca! Because faes swam in the water, the city beach of the capital Palma had to be cleared. However, some holidaymakers did not want to do it without cooling in the sea despite the undoubtedly infinite circumstances …
The Canoni beach of the Blik is just two kilometers from Palma’s city center and is popular with both the locals and tourists. But during the weekend, bathing pleasure on the 750 meters long and 15 meters wide beach was literally clouded: so many faeces swam in the water that the lifeguards had to raise the red flags because of the danger to public health on Saturday. Absolutely bathing ban!
The police had to chase away swimmers
However, some swimmers were not put off by it. After the emergency services had taken many swimmers out of the water, some returned to the sea. According to “Mallorca Zeitung” the local police of Palma had to move to reason the unmanageable swimmers.
Why faeces swam in the water is still a mystery. Because this phenomenon is extremely unusual at this time of the year: droppings in the sea usually occur after heavy rainfall, but usually not in the summer and without prior precipitation.
The beach could only be released to swim on Sunday – the yellow flag, which indicated dangerous circumstances. Only a small part near the Assaona Beach Club was still closed.
