Three hours of use in the heat on the one hand, zero access to the fault to the other: a holiday maker trusted his navigation system in Upper Austria until he got stuck on a hiking trail with his rental car. The fire brigade moved to help, making the tourists completely cold.
The blind trust of a tourist in his navigation system led to a time -consuming fire service on Monday. The holiday maker from Asia and his companions wanted to drive to an inn in the village of Obersee on Lake Hallstatt with their rental car. The navigation system showed the East Bank Hiking Trail as the shortest way, which can only be passed on for cyclists and pedestrians from a reversing place.
Access to the scene of the accident difficult
The tourist couldn’t care, because he continued his journey on the narrow hiking trail – at least until he couldn’t continue because his car was on a slope. Pasers –by warned the emergency services of the St. Agatha Fire Brigade. They moved to a sweaty use, which was not only due to the hot temperatures: “We could not drive to a holiday car with the larger emergency vehicles, first had to reload everything in smaller cars,” says commander Michael Hauser.
Donant Wizard not insightful
The holiday car was raised again with the help of a lifting cushion and wooden slats. “A comrade then carefully sent the car back to the access road,” explains Hauser. While the use of sweat with the firefighters, the tourists remained calm. “No trace of debt,” says Hauser.
Use is compensated
Perhaps the operational calculation increases at least the wrist of the Asians: the approximately three hours of twelve firefighters will be compensated at the rate. It is still to be seen whether the money will ever arrive in the volunteer account.
