“Tragic and Sad” – Kremlin has shocked the death of the Minister of Raadslagen Transport

The Russian government is deeply relieved of the death of the released Minister of Transport Roman Starowoit.

“It shocked people, of course it shocked us,” said Kremlin spokesperson Dmitri Peskow in Moscow on Tuesday. “There are investigations going on. And these will answer all questions.” President Vladimir Putin was informed of the incident. The message is “tragic and sad”.

According to the authorities, the former government of the Kursk region is said to have committed suicide on Monday after being released for about a year as Minister of Transport for about a year. The State inquiry Committee said that his body was found with a shot wound in his private car.

No official reason for dismissal
In a presidential decision, no reason for the dismissal of Starowoit was cited. However, political analysts suspected that it was related to corruption investigations in the Kursk region, which he once ruled. The focus of the research is whether 2022 would be correctly issued to confirm the Russian-Ukrainian border in the Kursk region or a part. It is a total of 19.4 billion rubles (around 212 million euros).

Starowoit was appointed Russian Minister of Transport in May 2024.
