Monday at 3:38 pm there was a power outage in the old town of Salzburg. The festival district, Mönchsberg garage, several ice cream parlors, numerous shops and supermarkets were affected. After more than two hours the problem was solved. In the evening there was another power outage in Liefering and Siezenheim.
In total, approximately 1,900 Salzburg AG customers were temporarily out of power in the afternoon. Karin Strobl of Salzburg AG explains: “The cause was a technical defect in a transformer substation cable.”
There has been no accumulation of power outages in recent weeks. According to Strobl, there is also no connection with other recent power outages.
Another failure in the evening
Towards the evening there was also a power outage in Liefering and Siezenheim. 740 households were without electricity.
