In the American state of Indiana, two prisoners are said to have been raped by fellow inmates. The women have now filed a lawsuit against a prison guard who allegedly gave the men access to their cells.
He is accused of giving the male inmates the key to the women’s cells for $1,000. The inmates were then allowed to roam free in Jeffersonville Prison for several hours. It should have come to tasteless comments and unwanted touches. Women also reported being forced to undress. According to the indictment, two of them were even raped.
No one came to help
“Although many male prisoners were involved and there were several dozen victims, not a single guard came to the aid of the women,” it continues. After the incident, the women were even punished by turning off the lights for 72 hours and confiscating personal belongings.
Warden did not necessarily deny the incident
The accused warden did not deny the incident in an interview with the Washington Post. However, his version is that the men stole the key and he didn’t find out until days later. In addition to him, the sheriff in charge is also accused of not having prevented the acts.
