On Sunday afternoon there was a large contingent of fire brigade in Bregenz. A driver suddenly lost consciousness and collided with an oncoming car with her car.
At 12.50 pm, the driver, who was driving on Bregenzer Seestraße, suddenly fainted and lost control of the vehicle. He went into the oncoming lane and collided with an oncoming car. The unconscious’s car was thrown into the adjacent hedge between the sidewalk and the platform.
Due to the location of the car, the alarmed fire brigade could not get the woman out of the car immediately. A rail barrier was installed, after which the car could be recovered from the hedge by the fire brigade with a cable winch.
After first aid from the emergency room doctor, the driver was transferred to the hospital in Bregenz with injuries of unknown nature. In addition to seven vehicles from the Bregenz fire brigade, numerous police officers were also on the scene – as well as an operations manager from ÖBB.
