Scandal in the ports: Two guards are said to have smuggled drugs into cells – one of them had an affair with a criminal.
The young civil servant (name known to the editors) has been working in the judiciary for almost two and a half years and has since been deployed in the Sonnberg prison in the Weinviertel (Lower Austria). Now her rather short career under lock and key came to an abrupt end. The woman is said to have fallen for a prisoner and started a forbidden relationship with him. The thorny case came to light through a tip from within its own ranks.
What followed last Saturday was a large-scale search of the detainee’s belongings. And indeed: in addition to the usual papers and documents, several mobile phones that he had in his possession without permission were seized. It also recorded very insidious conversations between the detainee and the young prison guard.
Cell raids revealed smuggled drugs
But that’s not all: according to information from “Krone”, the woman is said to have smuggled drugs into the prison for her forbidden love. In any case, narcotics were also found during the cell raid over the weekend. The prison authorities immediately pulled the strings and immediately suspended their colleague. At the request of “Krone”, the responsible public prosecutor’s office in Korneuburg confirmed that they had received such reports. A file has now been created, the facts are currently “investigated in all directions”, it says.
Screening apparently also against other officials
Another explosive detail: the ad is directed at three people – according to reports, in addition to the lover’s guard and her “chosen one”, the imprisoned man, another officer from Sonnberg prison is also being investigated. According to insiders, she would also have been taken out of service for drug smuggling.
Ministry of Justice is currently still covered
The “Krone” confronted the Ministry of Justice with this sensitive issue. “The allegations are known to the Directorate-General for Prisons and Deprivation Measures and are currently under investigation,” said spokeswoman Julia Rieder. However, with further details, they are kept covered. “Due to the ongoing investigation, we ask for your understanding that no further information about the facts can be given at this time,” the spokeswoman explained.
