Terrible accident Wednesday afternoon at the Rennweg in Innsbruck. A 67-year-old resident caught an 18-year-old pedestrian crossing the road behind a bus. The young man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Shortly after 4 p.m., the 67-year-old Austrian drove her car on Tiroler Straße. She stopped her vehicle at a red light and resumed her journey when it turned green. “At the same time, an 18-year-old Austrian ran from behind a bus that stopped in the opposite lane and crossed the lane,” police described the accident.
Serious injuries sustained
The young man was hit by the car. He was thrown onto the windshield and then onto the roadway. The victim suffered leg and head injuries and was admitted to the Innsbruck clinic after first aid. Significant damage has been done to the car. The B171 was closed to all traffic during the salvage operation.
