Quiet! An Irish airline has been departing from Upper Austria to Madrid for a month – on behalf of the online Croesus. Apart from that, there are also positive signals in passenger traffic for the airport in Hörsching.
Flight number: ABR401; Departure time: 8.30 am; Destination: Madrid. This ASL Airlines flight departs Linz six times a week, carrying cargo to the Spanish capital and then back to Upper Austria – and has been doing so for a month now.
Who is behind this new flight connection? No comment, the airport said. ASL itself makes no secret of its client. The Irish company is currently the only European airline fully trusted by Amazon. Airports in Cologne, Milan and Leipzig are also flown in for the online Croesus and the Linz-Madrid connection was also used for a month to be able to supply customers as quickly as possible.
Hörsching has great confidence in the freight industry: DHL also uses the airport as a connection to Leipzig and Brussels. The relationship with Turkish Cargo is on hold for the time being.
The connection with Frankfurt will be extended from the end of October
Apart from that, there are positive signs for the Linz-based company in the planned area: From the end of October, Lufthansa partner Air Dolomiti will fly to Frankfurt three times a day, four days a week. Linz is currently connected to the metropolis twice a day.
