Due to high electricity prices, the Association of Hoteliers (ÖHV) warns of a “radical bloodshed” in the industry. Politicians “slept through the summer again,” criticized Vice President Alexander Ipp. The ÖHV demands that the government focuses on assistance and not on discussions about heating cushions and seat heating.
“Triple or quadruple energy costs put even healthy companies in trouble,” says ÖHV chairman Walter Veit. Ipp added: “Every conversation is only about rising costs, poor prospects – and politicians who seem to be losing money.”
Ask for quick support from electricity suppliers
His colleague Heike Ladurner-Strolz points the way: “Now full focus on lighting instead of fights over radiant heaters and seat heating when the western economic system starts to falter.” That helps quickly and costs a fraction of the current surplus subsidies,” Walter Veit said in a press release from the stakeholders.
