Heavy artillery is now being deployed in the dispute over Klagenfurt airport. Lilihill reacts very nervous.
The conflict over the airport escalates. County councilor Martin Gruber and the head of investment management, Martin Payer, are putting up a heavy gun against majority shareholder Franz-Peter Orasch and his Lilihill Group. The real estate magnate reacts very nervous and apparently has every reason to.
Less than 100,000 passengers
Because, as insiders have calculated, the airport will not reach 100,000 passengers this year, even if all arriving Ryanair flights are filled to the last seat. This would bring the call option, aka the buy back, back into play.
Sales at the airport
Gruber accuses Orasch of only caring about the land: “In the event of a land sale, the land’s first refusal right should be canceled and Lilihill granted. That would de facto be a blank check for the sale.” That will not happen to him, said the state councilor of the ÖVP. “I see no reason to continue talking about building rights until the plans for flight connections and the investments are clearly on the table.”
Lilihill was stubborn even before Gruber held his press conference. According to the group, there will be no tendering of areas. These are all “interfering maneuvers of destructive forces”.
