The bankruptcy of the trading company A. Hausmann from Bruck an der Mur has far-reaching consequences: two branches in Wiener Neudorf and Villach will be closed in October, and four more will follow in mid-December! Only two locations remain, 200 employees lose their jobs.
A. Hausmann GmbH from Bruck an der Mur with 250 employees filed for bankruptcy at the end of August. It is the second largest bankruptcy in Austria since the beginning of the year, only Christof Industries Austria, based in Graz, affects even more employees (360).
Continuation is still under review
So far, the six cash & carry locations have continued, but the purchase of new goods has been reduced to virtually zero. Now the branches are gradually closing. Villach and Wiener Neudorf start this week. Those in Seiersberg, Klagenfurt, Bruck and Bergheim will follow in mid-December. The wholesale location in Freistadt and the administration center in Bruck will remain. According to the AKV Credit Protection Association, about 200 employees will be laid off and only about 40 to 45 will be able to keep their jobs.
So far, claims totaling 15.6 million euros have been registered, of which 12.6 million euros have been acknowledged. According to the restructuring plan, the creditors must receive a quota of 20 percent within two years of the approval of the restructuring plan. According to KSV1870, the reorganization plan will not be voted on in November, but only at the end of January 2023.
