Agreement KV – AUA gradually withdraws wage exemption

During the collective labor agreement negotiations of the AUAS, an agreement was reached on Wednesday. However, this only concerns the aircrew, the negotiations for the commercial-technical employees are still ongoing. In concrete terms, the current wage decline should be gradually reversed by the middle of next year.

This was confirmed by trade union Vida and the AUA. About 3,500 employees in the cabin and cockpit are affected. They recently had to accept a savings package. Income was cut by 10.08 percent in 2022 and should fall further in the coming year. This is now reversed by the new KV contract.

The first step in this direction will be taken on January 1, 2023, from June 1, the salary must match the old one again. This is reported by a spokeswoman for the AUA, who also points out that the salary scales must also be increased by seven percent compared to May 2022. Until then, the approximately 3,500 employees will have to be patient. The date was 1 January 2025.

A Vida spokeswoman calculated that the salaries of employees on board Austrian Airlines would increase by an average of 10.4 percent in the coming year. Previously, the company would have offered the union only 6.99 percent. No agreement has yet been reached in the collective labor agreement negotiations for the commercial and technical employees of the AUAS.
