Parts from Upper Austria apparently include drones that Russia uses to fight in Ukraine. The company takes the situation very seriously.
A CNN reporter gained access to an Iranian drone recently recovered in the Black Sea, nearly undamaged by the Ukrainian military. This is the Mohajer-6 model, which has been mass-produced by Iran since 2018. The inscription “Rotax” on the motor of the drone can also be seen in the photos. It is said to be the 912iS model from the Rotax factory in Gunskirchen, Upper Austria.
Company takes situation seriously
According to ORF Oberösterreicht, the company takes the situation very seriously and is already aware of the situation: the Upper Austrian engines were discovered in Iranian drones that crashed in Iraq two years ago. They were built solely for civilian and not military purposes, Rotax said in a statement.
